Aman unveils Amangati, its first luxury superyacht

Aman is launching its first-ever 180-meter superyacht, with Mediterranean voyages beginning in spring 2027.

Exciting news for all Amanjunkies out there: Aman has revealed the inaugural routes for Amangati, its first ocean-going yacht, and opened reservations for a debut Mediterranean season beginning in spring 2027. The move marks a significant expansion for the Swiss-founded hospitality group, extending its portfolio beyond land-based resorts and branded residences into the growing market for ultra-high-end maritime travel.

The 180-metre yacht, which is currently under construction, will span nine decks and carry a maximum of 94 guests across 47 suites — each with a private terrace overlooking the sea. By keeping the suites to a minimum, Aman underlines its intention to position the project closer to a floating private residence than a conventional cruise ship. Interiors follow the brand’s familiar emphasis on restraint and spatial generosity, with design references drawn from Japanese ryokan architecture and floor-to-ceiling glazing used to maintain constant side views to the sea.

All 47 suites on board Amangati will include sea views and private terraces.

Wellness, dining and a shift in luxury cruising

Similar to the Aman hotels on land, wellness forms a central pillar to the concept also onboard. An Aman Spa occupying two decks and measuring 1,190 square metres will include eight ocean-facing treatment rooms, hammams, banyas and outdoor whirlpools, alongside yoga and meditation spaces, a fitness studio, Medi Spa and beauty lounge. Other highlights of Amangati include a beach club with pool deck and marina area, designed to provide direct access to swimming and water sports.

Dining options will range from the Mediterranean all-day venue Alira to Japanese concepts Akari and Hiori, alongside the open-flame Aman Grill and 24/7 room-service. Evening programming is set to include a jazz club, cinema and youth lounge.

Amangati’s first itineraries focus on five- to eight-night voyages through the Mediterranean, combining major cultural destinations with smaller ports less frequently visited by large vessels. Routes will take in the Dalmatian coast, southern Spain and the French Riviera, with select sailings timed to coincide with events such as the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix.

To make it feel less cruise and more retreat, the itineraries favour longer port stays over rigid schedules, allowing guests to explore the on-route destinations without feeling rushed. Each voyage includes a range of cultural experiences, but guests can also work with a concierge to plan bespoke activities on land. To make sure everything goes smoothly, a dedicated suite host will be on hand to assist with any requests. Comings and goings of the yacht will be very comfortable too, thanks to the yacht’s two helipads and six tenders.

Aman is not alone in taking luxury to sea. Following Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons, the brand’s debut yacht reflects a broader industry shift toward experience-driven travel, where guests increasingly prioritise movement, discovery and design over retail or repeat stays at the same resort. A floating hotel, after all, allows for multiple destinations within a single journey, without sacrificing the rituals of a five-star stay.

Cruising, it seems, has never felt so cool.
